JOHN D. BECK & RON HART, executive producers
John D. Beck and Ron Hart met at Syracuse University in the early nineties. Beck was a freshman who thought Hart threw cool parties, and Hart was a senior who thought Beck was a freshman who kept showing up to parties he wasn't invited to.
Upon graduating, the two took widely differing paths on their way to becoming sitcoms writers. Beck served on the production staffs of several network sitcoms, while Hart served as a maid, house sitter and cab driver to gain his Kerouac experience while waiting for his giant overall deal to come along. It didn't, so he started writing specs with Beck. Fifteen years after meeting, they are now executive producers on a major network TV show and can officially look back and laugh at Hart's many missteps.
They have served on the writing staff of "According to Jim" for the last six years. Before that, Hart and Beck worked as writers on "The Hughleys," as well as selling a variety of freelance episodes of shows on such networks as MTV, Nickelodeon and Fox Family Channel. In addition to their work on "According to Jim," Hart and Beck also have written books, and continue to develop with ABC Studios.
Hart would like to add that he is also a proud member of the Six Million Dollar Man Bionic Action Club.

They've created several series, including "Blue Skies" (ABC), "A Whole New Ballgame" (ABC), "Something So Right" (NBC/ABC) -- for which they won the Humanitas prize -- "Payne" (CBS) and an Americanization of "Fawlty Towers," starring John Laroquette.
